Sydney Rides Business Challenge

22 February - 20 March, 2016,

Hundreds of Sydney businesses will compete in the four-week challenge to get more staff riding bikes.

It’s all about taking part – and finding out which workplaces can encourage the most people to ride a bike for 10 minutes or more.

Businesses are championing Sydney’s bike-riding boom creating healthier, happier and more productive workforces.

Riding to work also makes economic sense. More people commuting by bike means less congestion on our roads, keeping the city moving for couriers, buses and business deliveries.

Last year 4,804 people pedalled a total of over 313,000 kilometres as they vied for top honours. City-based businesses took out first place in all six categories of the event, which saw 293 companies large and small from across Sydney sign-up.

Winners  were determined by the percentage of total employees who logged rides during the challenge, and businesses competed against companies with similar staff numbers.

Companies already on board for the City of Sydney event include Qantas, Westpac, Hilton Sydney, LinkedIn, Lion, Airbus, Lendlease and
