Raising the bar

As we work towards our 'must get' position (net zero) and beyond to our 'want to get' position (carbon positive) the commerical office sector needs to increase its ambition and urgency. Accordingly, we are raising the bar by increasing the targets for signatories move towards. CitySwitch’s vision of best practice is that office-based businesses:

  • commit to switching to 100% renewable energy by 2021
  • commit to achieving a 5-star NABERS energy rating
  • make a plan by 2021 to achieve net zero before 2050.

We know many existing signatories have developed new strategies and goals and we’re asking everyone to update us on their commitments.

New options in the ‘Manage My Info’ section of the portal will allow you to refresh your targets.

Even if you’re at the start of the best-practice journey, the refreshing your commitment can be a catalyst for gaining support and developing a more ambitious plan. Importantly, it also lets CitySwitch to advocate for energy efficiency, renewables, wellness and carbon positive places and services.

As always, your CitySwitch Program Manager is here to help so please contact us if you have any questions.
