Smart green companies earned national recognition last night for leading the way with energy-efficient buildings and slashing carbon emissions at the CitySwitch National awards.
A Sydney office taking part in the CitySwitch Green Office program has saved the same amount of emissions that a medium-sized family car would produce travelling around the world three and half times.
Signatories reported a record 840 energy efficiency projects last year. Combined, these initiatives delivered a saving of $14.4 million and reductions of over 85,000 tonnes of carbon emissions and 75 GWh energy.

Five CitySwitch signatories are being celebrated for their environmental leadership and excellence, with 15 large scale posters on trees across the city centre.
CBRE was awarded National Signatory of the Year and New Signatory of the Year was awarded to Echo Entertainment Group. A collaboration between City of Greater Geelong - Future Proofing Geelong, Ryrie Centre Property and the 12 companies occupying 235 & 237 Ryrie Street, Geelong was awarded CitySwitch Partnership of the Year in recognition of their development of the first two CitySwitch vertical communities in regional Victoria.

The Awards are open to existing CitySwitch signatories in the Signatory and Partnership of the Year categories and new signatories signing up to the program before the cut-off date on 15 October will be in the running for the New Signatory of the Year award.
CitySwitch Signatories have reported on over 650 energy efficiency projects last year with an estimated $8.2 million worth of savings combined and approximately 33,000 tonnes of carbon emissions.

As part of this, Signatories to the program commit to achieve an accredited NABERS Energy tenancy rating (between 4 and 6 stars) and
work with CitySwitch to improve their tenancy’s environmental performance.
