Mirada Film Festival is an international film festival unlike any other in the world. La Mirada means the gaze, or through the eyes of and is the festival's thematic context of viewing cinema from the perspective of the world's leading filmmakers.La Mirada is held from 14-26 April 2011 and features approximately 25 classic and contemporary ish-language films. La Mirada is also the only film festival in the world co-programmed by Spain's Academy Award-winning director, Pedro Almodovar. In addition to Pedro Almodovar, who annually programs his own exclusive selection of Spanish classics, La Mirada has featured guest curators such as Penelope Cruz, Woody Allen, Martin Scorsese, Stephen Daldry and Paul Auster. The Festival also features several cultural events valuing ersity, creativity and excellence and is acclaimed for its style at both functions and in its high quality programming. La Mirada is supported by the ish and Argentinean Institutes of Cinema and the most important institutions promoting the arts and trade from Spain, Argentina and Australia.
