Juvenile Justice NSW is responsible for the supervision and care of young offenders who receive community-based orders or custodial sentences from the courts, and for the administration of youth justice conferences. Juvenile Justice also provides funding to a number of community agencies to give assistance to juvenile offenders and their families.
Juvenile Justice NSW is the largest juvenile justice agency in Australia, employing 1578 staff including many people from Aboriginal and other culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds. Across the state, there are 35 Juvenile Justice Community Services offices incorporating Youth Justice Conferencing and seven juvenile justice centres.
