CitySwitch has grown strongly again in 2013, now reaching over 2 million square metres of member office space, over 500 tenancies, and the program has become truly national and available to any commercial office tenant across Australia. In 2013, CitySwitch also launched a new online resource hub, expanded its services into waste, and produced a suite of new industry resources and research.
The newly released CitySwitch National Progress Report 2013 celebrates these collective achievements of the program, showcases the 2013 national award winners and shares in the various initiatives CitySwitch has been undertaking to drive sustainability across the country.
CitySwitch 2013 successes include; working with the sustainability professionals of tomorrow through partnerships with RMIT, taking building performance data to new audiences through innovative collaborations with the arts, using Commercial Building Disclosure data to help tenants open new conversations with their building managers and landlords, and expanding new funding mechanism availability (such as Environmental Upgrade Agreements) around the country.
The report provides a breakdown on the 650-plus reported projects carried out by CitySwitch Signatories and estimates that at least $8.2 million worth of savings have been made by program tenancies combined along with approximately 33,000 tonnes of carbon emissions.
As well as assisting with energy efficiency within the workplace, CitySwitch continues to inspire businesses to innovate and to pursue excellence.
