The CitySwitch website (cityswitch.net.au) is operated by the Council of the City of Sydney (‘City of Sydney’), as the national coordinator of the CitySwitch program, on behalf of CitySwitch partners (councils and entities represented on the CitySwitch national steering committee).

Privacy Statement

The City of Sydney and CitySwitch partners are committed to protecting your privacy. This private statement applies to the CitySwitch website and governs data collection and usage. By using the CitySwitch website, you consent to the data practices described in this statement.

Accountability

The City of Sydney is subject to the Privacy and Personal Information Act 1998 (NSW) and the City’s privacy management plan. CitySwitch partners may be subject to similar state and federal legislation.

Why we're collecting your information

The City of Sydney is collecting your personal information to provide you information about the CitySwitch program and similar initiatives, and to contact you to participate in surveys about current or future CitySwitch or related initiatives. Your information may be shared with CitySwitch partners to contact you directly about the CitySwitch program and similar initiatives.

Supplying your information is voluntary. If you do not provide your information, the City of Sydney and CitySwitch partners may not be able to provide this information or contact you.

Using your information

The City of Sydney and CitySwitch partners will use your personal information for the purpose for which it was collected and may also use it as is necessary for the exercise of other functions, such as letting you know about CitySwitch related products and services. Your information will not otherwise be sold, rented or provided to third parties.

Receiving and storing your information

The employees of the City of Sydney, and CitySwitch partners, are the intended recipients of this information. The City of Sydney, 456 Kent Street, Sydney NSW 2000, collects this information and will store it securely. CitySwitch partners provided the information are required to also store it securely.

Website data

Data that in some way identifies the user is gathered during interactions with the CitySwitch website including your IP address, navigation and clickstream data, browser type. Such information is collected by the City for the purposes of maintaining and operating the CitySwitch program and the CitySwitch website including website and system administration, evaluation, research and development, and may be shared with CitySwitch partners. It will only be disclosed to a third party in circumstances where such disclosure is legally authorised, such as in the investigation of a criminal offence in compliance with a search warrant or subpoena.
