Lord Mayor of Perth, Lisa Scaffidi today announced Norman Disney & Young and the RAC as winners of this year's CitySwitch Awards in Western Australia. The two organisations were recognised for their outstanding achievements in office energy efficiency at a ceremony in Perth.
Engineering consulting firm Norman Disney & Young took out the award for office space under 2000 square metres, while motoring service organisation RAC won the award for the over 2000 square metres category.
Lord Mayor Lisa Scaffidi announced both winners at the annual CitySwitch Progress Report and Awards Ceremony held yesterday at Council House, Perth. The event also celebrated the program’s achievements in commercial office energy efficiency.
The Lord Mayor acknowledged that maximising energy efficiency and reducing power consumption is not as simple as making sure lights are not left on.
“The journey for companies to become more energy efficient does require an ongoing commitment to energy goals and these two companies are fine examples of the difference that can be made,” said Ms Scaffidi.
“The CitySwitch award recognises organisations’ efforts to minimise energy consumption and is an award to office tenants taking significant steps towards achieving energy goals,”
“CitySwitch Signatories in the city now represent over 270,000 square metres of office space across 51 office tenancies, highlighting the programs exceptional performance in encouraging office energy efficiency.’
The CitySwitch awards recognise excellence in planning and implementation of energy efficiency programs in office buildings.
