CitySwitch Brisbane: Energy efficiency 101

Getting started on the journey to improving office performance

7.30am – 9am (morning tea will be provided)
Tuesday, 7 October 2014
Room 11.1, Saxons Training Facilities,
Level 11, 300 Adelaide Street, Brisbane, QLD

Improving energy efficiency is an effective way to reduce energy use and  make significant operational costs savings in your workplace. Initiatives to improve energy efficiency can include a range of actions from changing your energy supplier, upgrading lighting or equipment to staff engagement.

But how do you find out what options are available to your organisation? How do you determine whether your planned energy efficiency projects measure up and which ones will deliver both effective energy savings and the biggest bang for your buck? And where can you get financial assistance to help fund your initiatives?

With these questions in mind, this workshop will empower you to make informed decisions about energy management in your workplace and tap into the opportunities that exist within your organisations.

The workshop will cover:

•    Identifying  opportunities to save energy and reduce operational costs
•    Prioritising  energy saving opportunities
•    Energy savings measurement and monitoring
•    Planning for energy efficiency measures
•    Developing your own energy action plan
•    Some simple and effective staff behaviour change initiatives.

This is also a great opportunity to engage with peers and share knowledge and experiences. All signatories and organisations interested in joining the CitySwitch program are welcome to attend.

Presenter: Alexander Stathakis
Alexander is the program manager for CitySwitch Green Office in Queensland and he also has more than five years’ experience in emissions and energy accounting and reporting.
