It’s not often we stop and think what the purpose of a building is. You could argue that it is to provide a place of comfort, safety and productivity that is not offered outdoors. If people had these things outside, we would never have created buildings. Somewhere however, in between creating the first shelters of sticks and leaves and the sky piercing modern structures of today, we lost sight of that purpose. Now, our buildings have control of us, determining our behaviour, our culture, our health, our productivity, and even our moods.
